Frequently Asked Questions

Trekking and Hiking in Unique Tours's Wilderness

We use modern, well-equipped buses ranging from 20-seat to luxury 60-seat coaches. All buses are air-conditioned, fitted with entertainment systems, GPS, and in most cases, restrooms and internet access. Comfort during travel is a top priority as we spend significant time moving between destinations.

Can students explore independently during the tour?

While the itinerary is packed, students may have limited free time to explore specific areas under supervision. All activities prioritize safety, and students must remain in contact with tour leaders during any unscheduled time.

How long is spent at each college?

We typically spend 2.5–3 hours at each college, with one visit in the morning and another in the afternoon.

How much spending money should students bring?

The tour package covers all major expenses, including accommodation, meals, and transportation. Students should carry enough money for personal expenses, such as snacks, souvenirs, or discretionary purchases.

What about students with allergies or medical needs?

Once participation is confirmed, we collect detailed information about medical conditions and allergies directly from parents. Please feel free to contact us with any specific questions or concerns.

Can we visit colleges not listed on the itinerary?

While the itinerary is planned to accommodate diverse student interests, additional college visits can be considered on request. We also offer customized family or individual tours if needed.

How is Unique Tours different from other tour operators?

At Unique Tours, we don’t just visit university campuses. Thanks to our strong relationships with admissions offices, we arrange exclusive private tours and detailed sessions specifically for our participants. To complement these visits, we also conduct workshops on university selection and the application process. Additionally, we explore local neighborhoods and iconic city landmarks to give students a well-rounded view of what college life in the U.S. entails.

How many chaperones accompany the tour?

Our tours maintain a chaperone-to-student ratio of 1:10. Tour leaders and counselors ensure students are supervised and supported at all times.

Create Your Own Adventure in Unique Tours

Our tour leaders maintain a list of nearby medical facilities for each destination. In case of an emergency, we immediately arrange medical assistance and notify parents. Tour leaders are on call 24/7 to address emergencies.

What should students bring?

Students should pack clothes for each overnight stay, toiletries, comfortable walking shoes, an umbrella, and any required medication. They may also want to bring extra money for souvenirs or college merchandise like T-shirts and mugs.

Where will students eat?

Breakfast is served at the hotels. Lunch is often enjoyed in university dining halls to give students a glimpse of campus life. Dinners are arranged at restaurants near campuses or along the travel route, offering diverse cuisine options.

What type of accommodations are provided?

Students stay in comfortable 3- and 4-star hotels such as those in the Hilton or Marriott group. Rooms are shared between two students of the same gender. All accommodations are selected for their comfort, safety, and convenience.

Is there a curfew?

Yes, curfews are enforced at all hotels. Timings may vary depending on travel schedules and will be communicated daily.

Does participation in this tour improve chances of admission?

Visiting campuses demonstrates genuine interest, which many U.S. universities consider during admissions. Face-to-face interaction with admissions officers can make applications more memorable. Additionally, our workshops on essays and personal statements equip students with the tools to submit compelling applications.

Will students need a visa for the tour?

Yes, a visa is required. Upon confirmation of participation, we provide an official letter for visa application. Students should follow the U.S. Embassy guidelines in their country for the application process.

How can parents contact their child or tour leaders?

Students are encouraged to carry mobile phones with international roaming. Prepaid SIM cards can also be purchased locally. We provide parents with the contact details of tour leaders and hotel information. Tour leaders are reachable via call, SMS, or email and will promptly return calls if busy with activities.

Can students join only part of the tour?

We encourage full participation to maximize the value of the tour. However, exceptions can be made under specific circumstances.
